This book is incredible. A perfect debut novel for Casey McQuiston. This story follows the story about A big-hearted romantic comedy in which the First Son falls in love with the Prince of Wales after an incident of international proportions forces them to pretend to be best friends.
My heart is so full. I never read a book that consists of so much hope, laugh, and love. There is no page that is boring. I literally laughed, blushed, and fell in love. THIS BOOK IS MADE UP OF SUGAR!
“But the truth is, also, simply this: love is indomitable.”
I WILL DIE FOR THIS SHIP! ALEX IS SO IN LOVE HE COULD DIE! AND SO IS HENRY! Oh my heart is overflowing with love right now. I swooned and sighed many times, even got saddened and stressed when the affliction came. This book is a perfect romantic comedy novel.
Can we appreciate that this book gave us diverse side characters! They all unique! Especially to the Super Six. I am willing to give my life for them. Alex and Henry are so lucky to have friends like them. Also, CLAREMONT-DIAZ fam is such a family goal! Both of Alex’s parents are so accepting and loving. Both of them are so supportive and keeping up their pace. It puts me in awe. I love it when he outed as bisexual and confessed that he’s in a relationship with Henry, the Prince of England, and the only that matters is how is he handling the situation. June and Alex have a strong sibling-relationship! I’m a sucker for them!
I really appreciate that it doesn’t only focus only on personal relations but also on the nations. How their actions can build or destroy each other. It also discusses issues like immigrants, and we should not be ashamed of it, we must celebrate it.
For me, this book is like a Jane Austen novel with a modern twist. What he ran to London just to see him? Yes. Kissed in the garden? Yes. Enemies to friends to lovers? Yes.
I felt such a powerful amount of hope between Alex and Henry. It just screams.
“America: He is my choice.”
Overall, this book is everything. Certainly one of my favorite books. *chef’s kiss. Well done Casey!
